Last Updated: 21 August 2026
OVERVIEW
This website and online store are operated by Frosted Pines (Pty) Ltd trading as Armchair Generals, registration number 2023/202020/07.
Throughout this website, the terms "Armchair Generals", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Frosted Pines (Pty) Ltd trading as Armchair Generals.
Armchair Generals offers this website, including the information, tools, products and services available from this site, to you, the user, subject to your acceptance of these Terms of Service and the policies referenced herein.
By visiting our website and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our "Service" and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), including additional terms, conditions and policies referenced herein or available by hyperlink.
These Terms apply to all users of the website, including browsers, customers and other users.
Please read these Terms carefully before accessing or using our website.
Nothing contained in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right or remedy afforded to a consumer under applicable South African law.
Our online store is hosted using Shopify's e-commerce platform.
SECTION 1 – ONLINE STORE TERMS
By using this website, you represent that you have the legal capacity required to use the Service and enter into transactions through the website.
You may not use our products or Services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, nor may you violate any applicable law through your use of the Service.
You must not transmit viruses, malware or other destructive or malicious code.
A material breach of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Service.
SECTION 2 – GENERAL CONDITIONS
We reserve the right to refuse or restrict service where reasonably justified and permitted by law.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or commercially exploit any portion of the Service or website content owned by Armchair Generals without our express permission, except where permitted by law.
The headings used in these Terms are included for convenience and do not limit or otherwise affect their interpretation.
SECTION 3 – ACCURACY OF WEBSITE INFORMATION
Armchair Generals makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information displayed on our website is accurate and current.
However, information may occasionally contain errors, omissions or outdated information.
Product images may be supplied by manufacturers, distributors or suppliers and may be illustrative. Packaging, colours, promotional markings or other minor details may differ from images displayed online.
Nothing in these Terms permits Armchair Generals to make false or misleading representations concerning products or services.
Where a material error affects an order, product or price, the matter will be addressed in accordance with these Terms and applicable South African law.
SECTION 4 – PRODUCTS, PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
Products displayed on our website are subject to availability.
Prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated.
We may change prices for future purchases at any time.
A price change made after a product has already been purchased will be dealt with in accordance with these Terms, the specific circumstances of the transaction and applicable law.
We reserve the right to limit quantities of products where reasonably necessary, including limited-release, high-demand or allocated products.
Products may be discontinued without notice.
SECTION 5 – PRE-ORDERS
Certain products may be offered for pre-order before the products are physically available to Armchair Generals for normal fulfilment.
By placing a pre-order, you acknowledge that the product is not immediately available for dispatch.
5.1 Estimated Release and Arrival Dates
Any release date, expected arrival date, delivery estimate or fulfilment date displayed for a pre-order is an estimate based on information available to us at the time unless expressly stated otherwise.
Dates may change because of circumstances including:
- manufacturer delays;
- distributor or supplier delays;
- international shipping;
- customs;
- freight delays;
- production delays;
- release-date changes; or
- other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays that become known to us.
5.2 Pre-Order Pricing
Pre-order prices are based on information and costs reasonably available to Armchair Generals at the time the pre-order is offered.
For imported or supplier-dependent products, our final cost may be affected by factors including:
- supplier or distributor price changes;
- exchange-rate fluctuations;
- international freight;
- shipping charges;
- import costs;
- customs duties;
- taxes; and
- other costs outside our reasonable control.
Where such circumstances result in a material increase in the cost of a pre-order after the customer has placed the order, Armchair Generals may contact the customer regarding a revised price where permitted by applicable law.
We will not automatically charge the customer an additional amount without the customer's agreement.
Where a revised price is proposed, the customer will be given the option to:
- accept the revised price and proceed with the pre-order; or
- cancel the affected pre-order and receive a refund of amounts paid for that affected product.
This provision is intended to address genuine cost changes affecting pre-orders and does not permit Armchair Generals to disregard any mandatory consumer rights concerning displayed or agreed prices.
5.3 Supplier Allocations
Pre-orders, trading card products, collectibles and limited-release products may be subject to allocations imposed by manufacturers, distributors or suppliers.
A confirmed pre-order means that we have accepted the customer's order; however, it cannot guarantee that our supplier or distributor will ultimately supply Armchair Generals with the full quantity originally expected.
If our allocation is reduced and we cannot fulfil all or part of an order, we will contact affected customers.
Depending on availability and the customer's preference, an appropriate option may include:
- waiting for additional stock;
- selecting an alternative product;
- store credit where the customer agrees to it; or
- a refund for the affected product.
If we are unable to supply the product and no alternative arrangement is agreed, the customer will receive a refund for the affected product in accordance with applicable law.
5.4 Pre-Order Cancellations
Requests to cancel a pre-order will be handled in accordance with applicable South African law.
Where Armchair Generals is legally entitled to impose a reasonable cancellation charge, any such charge will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the cancellation.
Nothing in this section removes a customer's statutory cancellation rights.
SECTION 6 – ORDERS CONTAINING PRE-ORDER AND IN-STOCK PRODUCTS
If an order contains both in-stock products and pre-order products, we may hold the order until all products are available so that the order can be dispatched together.
Customers who would prefer available products to be shipped separately should contact us.
Additional shipping charges may apply where the customer requests separate shipments.
If Armchair Generals elects to split an order into separate shipments for operational reasons, the customer will not be charged an additional delivery fee unless this has been agreed with the customer.
SECTION 7 – ORDER ACCEPTANCE AND QUANTITY LIMITS
We reserve the right to refuse, limit or cancel an order where reasonably justified and permitted by law.
This may include circumstances involving:
- suspected fraud;
- payment problems;
- obvious pricing or listing errors;
- incorrect product information;
- unavailable stock;
- supplier allocation restrictions;
- purchases apparently intended for unauthorised resale; or
- quantities exceeding limits imposed on limited-release products.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received and no goods are supplied, amounts due to the customer will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.
Where we make a material change to or cancel an order, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer using the contact details provided with the order.
SECTION 8 – BILLING AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Customers agree to provide current, complete and accurate information when making a purchase.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their email address, telephone number, billing information and delivery address are accurate.
If you discover an error after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will make reasonable efforts to assist before dispatch, but changes may not be possible once an order has entered fulfilment or been handed to a courier.
SECTION 9 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Shipping and delivery are governed by our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Delivery times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed.
Customers should refer to the Shipping Policy for information regarding shipping methods, delivery estimates, tracking, delivery addresses, failed deliveries, pre-orders, mixed orders, lost or damaged parcels and collection.
Nothing in our Shipping Policy or these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
SECTION 10 – RETURNS, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES
Returns, refunds, exchanges and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Return Policy and applicable South African law.
Certain products, including sealed trading card and collectible products, may be subject to restrictions on discretionary change-of-mind returns once opened.
These restrictions do not remove statutory rights relating to defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-compliant goods.
SECTION 11 – PRICING ERRORS, INACCURACIES AND OMISSIONS
Occasionally information on our website may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, availability, shipping charges, release dates or product specifications.
Where a displayed price contains an inadvertent and obvious error, Armchair Generals may correct the error and take reasonable steps to inform affected customers, subject to applicable South African law.
We will not rely on this section to arbitrarily change an agreed price.
Where an error materially affects an order that has already been placed, we will contact the customer and handle the matter in accordance with applicable law.
SECTION 12 – OPTIONAL AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We may provide access to third-party services or tools that we do not own or control.
Use of independent third-party services may be subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policies.
Armchair Generals is not responsible for independent third-party services except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
SECTION 13 – THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Our website may contain links to third-party websites.
Armchair Generals does not control independent third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.
Customers should review the applicable terms and privacy policies when using independent third-party websites.
SECTION 14 – USER COMMENTS AND SUBMISSIONS
Where users submit reviews, comments, feedback or other content to Armchair Generals, they are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are lawful and do not infringe the rights of others.
You may not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, malicious, fraudulent or infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
We may moderate or remove content where reasonably necessary.
SECTION 15 – PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
Armchair Generals aims to collect only personal information reasonably necessary to operate our store, fulfil orders, provide customer service, comply with our obligations and provide communications requested or lawfully permitted.
Newsletter subscriptions and marketing communications are addressed separately in our Privacy Policy.
SECTION 16 – PROHIBITED USES
You may not use the website or Service for unlawful purposes, to infringe intellectual-property rights, transmit malicious software, obtain unauthorised access to systems or information, unlawfully collect personal information, engage in fraud, interfere with website security or operation, impersonate another person, or engage in other conduct prohibited by applicable law.
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, customers, Armchair Generals or third parties.
SECTION 17 – DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, completely secure or free from technical errors.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical failures, hosting issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Frosted Pines (Pty) Ltd trading as Armchair Generals, its directors, employees, agents, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from the use or inability to use the website where such liability may lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, warranty, consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law.
SECTION 18 – INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Frosted Pines (Pty) Ltd trading as Armchair Generals against claims or losses arising directly from your unlawful use of the website, your material breach of these Terms or your infringement of another person's lawful rights.
This provision does not limit any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
SECTION 19 – SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or severed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
SECTION 20 – TERMINATION
These Terms remain effective while you use the website or Services.
We may suspend or terminate access where a user materially breaches these Terms, uses the website unlawfully or threatens the security or proper operation of the Service.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.
SECTION 21 – ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the policies referenced herein, constitute the terms governing your use of the Armchair Generals website and online store, subject always to applicable law.
The following policies should be read together with these Terms:
- Shipping Policy;
- Refund & Return Policy;
- Privacy Policy; and
- Legal Notice.
SECTION 22 – CONSUMER RIGHTS
Armchair Generals operates subject to applicable South African law, including, where relevant:
- the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008;
- the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002;
- the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013; and
- other applicable legislation.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or waive a right afforded to a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or waived.
SECTION 23 – GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and transactions with Armchair Generals are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Nothing in this provision prevents a consumer from exercising any statutory dispute-resolution or consumer-protection rights available under South African law.
SECTION 24 – CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, products, policies, technology or legal obligations.
The latest version will be published on this website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Changes to these Terms will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued to customers under an existing transaction or applicable law.
